I have compiled a lucky number of 7 family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day events taking place across Metro Atlanta this year. From parades and races to live music and dance, there are plenty of ways for your family to join in on the St. Paddy’s Day fun.
Luck of Avalon: Friday, March 13th (6 pm – 10 pm). Live music (bagpipes included!), dancing, face painting and Irish flair will be featured at Alpharetta’s Avalon shopping pavilion.
Rescue Dog Games: Saturday, March 13th (1 pm – 6 pm). Celebrate St. Paw-trick’s Day with your dog! Fun for all members of the family, this Piedmont Park festival shines a light on the importance of pet adoption and encourages people to get outside and PLAY more.
Shamrock ‘n Roll Roadrace: Saturday, March 14th (8:30 am to 11:30 am). For the 16th year, The Junior League of Atlanta is hosting the Shamrock ‘n Roll Roadrace at Atlantic Station. The perfect race for families, there is a 10k, 5k, and 1k route option.
Smyrna St. Patrick’s Day Festival: Saturday, March 14th (11 am – evening) and Sunday, March 15th (noon – evening). Smyrna is offering two days of festival fun this St. Patrick’s Day weekend! Head to the Smyrna Market Village and enjoy a great lineup of live local music, food, games and family friendly fun.
St. Patrick’s Parade: Saturday, March 14th (noon start time). The longest running event in the city, the Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade is a must do for young and old! Taking place throughout downtown, it is best to preview the entertainment details, event schedule, and the parade route on the official website.
St. Patrick’s Parade 5K: Saturday, March 14th (9:45 am start time). Prior to the parade, the 6th annual St. Patrick’s Parade 5K runners will fill the streets of Atlanta. The race is open to all ages and online registration is open until Thursday, March 12th.
Children’s Museum of Atlanta: Tuesday, March 17th (event times vary). Your kids can learn Irish dancing, create themed art, and take part in storytime at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta.
